Education and Jobs

SLES, or school-leaver employment supports, are services available to students in their final year of secondary school who are about to leave. The SLES services provide participants with the knowledge and confidence required for the transition from school to the workforce. We provide individualized/person-centered support for up to two years after participants graduate from high school to assist with preparing for work and plan pathways to employment through our partner network.
We also provide tailored to participant’s specific employment objectives and may include:
- Education short courses in the Australian Qualifications Framework
- Skills training program and planning required for industry preferences
- Travel planning using public transport and/or support worker assisted travel to and from work
- Work Experience placements in industries and business’ to gain insight of career development towards open employment with employer guidance
How does our education and jobs services program work?
We start with a thorough detailed consultation and interview process to gather information about education and work history, as well as access participant preferences that are aligned with capacity building goals, in order to reach an agreeable strategy.
